A New Home

Here are 2 Barn Swallow birds relaxing from a hard days work. They have just completed the first phase of building their new home (again) This is their 5th day doing this!
For the past 5 consecutive days I come home, pull out the hose and demolish their nest. Sorry I don't have a picture of me (I'm drenched by the time I'm done) Their home is made of the finest CLAY MUD here in Nebraska.
After doing our homework and checking with local Nebraskans...Barn Swallows are persistent and will keep doing this for another 2 weeks. In order to keep them and ALL their family and friends from building here we have to knock it down EVERYDAY! It's a matter of WILL who WINS in the end :)

So interesting...good luck for the next week and a half! We have a birds nest right under our eaves behind our basketball hoop on our house...such beautiful chirpping in the morning...love it!
