Time to say Good-Bye ;(

Aaron is OK and walked away without a scratch. As you can imagine he is a bit sore. And at the moment he is without a car.
Aaron was in an accident yesterday, June 23 on the 405 freeway. As for "BETSY" (the car)...this is what she looks like AFTER her run in with other cars. Picture above and below: Here she is after being towed following her accident (somewhere in L.A.) It cost $245.00 to be towed with a 5 hour stay. We couldn't afford a minute longer, so we had her moved to O.C.5:00 P.M. safely in O.C. Another cost of $205.00 for the towing-ride! She'll stay here until we get all the paper work complete.

The MOST important thing--Aaron is unhurt (other than the hit to his pocket book) We can always get another car! He had her for 1 year. I had her for 10 years. Amazing how attached you become to a car. She wasn't fancy, and didn't demand a lot of care. She was a GREAT CAR!
We have been told we might get anywhere from $50.00 to $200.00 for parts. That should cover part of the TOWING FEE :)

A SIT DOWN "Mower"...someday :)

It's lawn mowing season once again :) I LOVE mowing the lawn--yeah, even like today when the temp is in the HIGH 80's and VERY HUMID! I let Britt mow the green zone area, which is adjacent to the green zone.
As much as I LOVE mowing the lawn, I can't wait to get a sit down mower. Then I will mow all the time! Note: we get a sit-down when we turn 60 :)
This picture was taken when we were on a tornado watch.
It's TORNADO SEASON (that's what we call it) here in Nebraska. I thought it would be really neat if I took picutes every 5 minutes and do my own documentation of a storm chaser. I don't have one of those fancy armor car/tanks so I observe from the comfort of my home.
Unfortuantely the battery died and I did not get the amazing cloud formations this time. Within 30 minutes the sky turned dark/black and we had an amazing thunder and lightening show.

Corn Field and a Wedding

We were invited to a wedding. I LOVE WEDDINGS! The actual wedding ceremony took place on a small island in a pond on their property. They asked Britt if he would take the pictures of their wedding day. It was a fun day! We took 192 pictures!
No sooner did we get in the car and decided to pull over and take a picture of ... CORN. It grows taller every weekHere is where the ceremony will take place. Gorgeous dayTheir back yard. Behind all the trees is a soybean field. We took a walk but left our camera on the table...oops :)
Here COMES THE BRIDE! Note the steps cut out of the bank :) And here is Britt with the video camera. I had the digital camera and took these 2 pics of him. Food was THE BEST of the Midwest! (Britt is to the left with the video camera)

A New Home

Here are 2 Barn Swallow birds relaxing from a hard days work. They have just completed the first phase of building their new home (again) This is their 5th day doing this!
For the past 5 consecutive days I come home, pull out the hose and demolish their nest. Sorry I don't have a picture of me (I'm drenched by the time I'm done) Their home is made of the finest CLAY MUD here in Nebraska.
After doing our homework and checking with local Nebraskans...Barn Swallows are persistent and will keep doing this for another 2 weeks. In order to keep them and ALL their family and friends from building here we have to knock it down EVERYDAY! It's a matter of WILL who WINS in the end :)
